    Working to improve diversity and inclusion across the local government sector.I lead the VLGA’s highly regarded ‘Local Women Leading Change’ program, which resulted in an increase from 38% women councillors to 44% in October 2020.I designed and coordinated projects on increasing cultural and linguistic diversity in local government decision-making (‘A Seat at the Table’), promoted young people’s contribution and potential in local government (‘Step Up, Get Elected’) and managed the development of important resources for councils and communities, like the ‘Rainbow Resource for Victorian Councils’. I provided policy advice on diversity and inclusion matters in the context of local government and governance, and designed and facilitated detailed, engaging training modules on relevant topics.I have an intimate understanding of the Victorian Gender Equality Act (2020) and its implications for local government, and provided briefings and training opportunities for the sector. Working with leaders on understanding diversity and inclusion as culture over compliance, I built sector capacity in applying gender lens (including compounding intersectionalities), human rights frameworks and social determinants of health in policy analysis.I created interesting and effective content copy and schedules across the VLGA's digital media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, EDM), managing an extensive CRM database.
