At the same time, I advise them on their rights in the workplace, enabling them to seek out the medical care and work accommodations that they need, without jeopardizing their professional careers or health insurance benefits. I bring 20+ years of professional experience satisfying the research needs of doctors, scientists, engineers, attorneys and law enforcement personnel. This experience taught me about topics of interest that affect individuals seeking medical care. At the same time, I mastered researching what I did not know, utilizing a wide range of source material beyond the internet. As an individual with invisible illnesses, I also bring personal experiences that inform how I support and educate clients.I have experience helping individuals identify medical providers and specialist programs for a variety of chronic conditions affecting both their physical and mental health. I have also guided clients through the processes of transferring to alternative hospitals and care facilities, and helping them to apply for Social Security and disability benefits. I encourage clients to think broadly about their medical care, considering treatment options beyond Western medicine, including Eastern or other traditional approaches, nutrition and herbal practices, and a variety of complementary and self-care practices. I have particular expertise in identifying food allergies and intolerances, as well as designing recipes and meal plans that these individuals and their families can still enjoy. I am a longtime vegetarian and can assist clients in adopting more plant-focused eating patterns or other significant dietary changes. I champion the rights of animals—pets, working animals, and traditionally farmed animals. I believe strongly that companionship with animals has significant health benefits, both for humans and the animals themselves. I help clients find their animal “match,” and integrate their care needs into the lives of individuals with ongoing health challenges.
