I founded Essential Elements in July, 2012 and continue leading the company today. During that time, my achievements include:--Writing successful grant applications for Head Start and Early Head Start.--Preparing Head Start programs for successful Federal Monitoring Reviews.--Creating successful Head Start and Early Head Start programs from the ground up.--Turning around departments that were not in compliance to bring them fully into compliance with requirements, including achieving full enrollment and enrolling 10% children with disabilities.--Developing a custom-designed ongoing monitoring tool to help programs stay compliant with all Head Start Program Performance Standards and Head Start Reauthorization regulations. --Conducting CLASS observations.--Creating programmatic documents, including community assessments, policy and procedure manuals, annual reports, and refunding applications.--Strategic planning, project planning and management, and reorganization/restructuring planning.

During my time at Gulf Coast Community Services Association, I also:--Established shared governance, vision, mission and strategies with agency’s governing bodies. --Implemented compliance plans, ensuring that Federal, regional, state and local regulations were met.--Effectively utilized Community Assessment, Self-Assessment and Monitoring Reports to create the program’s funding application. --Initiated and facilitated a quarterly coordinating council meeting of Head Start directors.--Established community partnerships that enhanced service delivery to children and families.--Maximized the use of 25 field-based operations, ensuring program objectives were met year-round.
