Developed Getting Started Manuals, Testing Manuals, and HTML help for portable telecommunications test instruments using Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Illustrator, and Visio. - Getting Started publications: How to prepare the test instruments before using them for the first time; an overview of the instrument’s user interface, LEDs, and connector panel; how to connect and disconnect modular hardware components (for example, Physical Interface Modules); and how to observe test results. - Testing publications: Brief overview of communication protocols supported within context of OSI model (e.g. layer 1 cable connectors and Tx/Rx signals; layer 2 Ethernet frames, layer 3 IPv6 packets); common test applications and automated test scripts; how to conduct different tests for each supported protocol. Instructions were provided for configuring the test (and the characteristics of the test packets to be transmitted during the test); connecting to the circuit under test; transmitting traffic; and observing test results.- Maintenance publications: How to recharge, replace, and prolong the life of instrument batteries; how to download and install instrument upgrades; how to recalibrate instrument components (for example, the touch screen); and how to clean removable SFP and XFP transceivers.- Supported System Acceptance Test team by isolating and documenting issues with the user interface and test applications. - Published a RFP for user interface string and documentation translations in support of all division test platforms and instruments.
