CurrentDeborah Misir's practice focuses on commercial litigation, corporate governance, and venture capital. She represents a wide array of clients, including corporations and businesses, not for profits, educational institutions, federal and local governments, and individuals in deals, transactions, disputes and investigations, both domestic and international. Deborah has personally handled hundreds of litigation matters, including numerous oral arguments before almost all of the U.S. federal courts of appeal. She also develops corporate ethics compliance programs, conducts internal investigations, and provides public policy advice.In addition to her private practice, Deborah has served in a variety of leadership roles in federal and local government and in the legal community. Among other things, she served in Washington, DC, as Ethics Attorney for the White House Counsel’s Office; U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of Labor; Chief of Staff of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA); Counsel to the U.S. Department of Justice’s Foreign Terrorist Tracking Task Force (FTTTF); Counsel to the U.S. Delegation to United Nations’ International Maritime Organization (IMO), and recently on Long Island, as the Town Attorney or chief legal officer for the Town of Huntington, a municipality of over 200,000 residents. Deborah’s experience in senior government roles provides unique insight to creatively and efficiently represent clients in the most complex and challenging of legal matters.
