I am a Member at Eckert Seamans in the Intellectual Property group. I focus my practice on biotechnology, biochemistry and chemistry. My research experience in both Universities and Research Institutes has enriched my knowledge of the importance of protecting both national and international intellectual property rights in an invention. I have prepared and prosecuted patent applications, and have participated in interferences, reexaminations, due diligence and in litigation support for corporate clients, universities and research institutes.I received my J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law, where I made Dean's List and worked part-time as a law clerk. I completed my B.S. in biochemistry at Geneva University in Switzerland, where I was also awarded an M.S. in biochemistry. I obtained my M.S. in life sciences from the Weizmann Institute of Science in Rehovot, Israel, where I focused on award-winning hormone and cancer research, focusing on ovarian cancer. I earned my Ph.D. in biology at Yale University under the supervision of Sidney Altman, who won the Nobel Prize in chemistry for his research on RNase P. I conducted research applying novel ribozyme technology to inhibit influenza infection in cells. I was also a post-doctoral research fellow at the Wistar Institute in Philadelphia, where I worked on confocal microscopy studies of virus-infected cells under a grant from the NIH. Following my post-doctorate, I was also an assistant professor of biology and chemistry at Northampton Community College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where I won grants from the NSF and awards. I have several publications in scientific journals, including the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences and Nature.I am fluent in English, French and Spanish, and also speak some German and Hebrew.I am a member of the AIPLA Harmonization Committee.
