Community Roots CIC’s aim is to ignite action to bring about social change in communities. We use the principles of Community Organising to facilitate change that builds strong, welcoming and resilient communities based on what really matters to residents. We believe residents given the right conditions and support are best placed to make a difference to where they live.As director I am responsible for financial management and administrative functions of the organisation.As a Senior Community Organiser I lead on organising projects and community conversations in communities across Gloucestershire – which includes fundraising, project design, management and delivery, and reporting and evaluation.As a lead trainer I deliver workshops in Community Organising and allied topics. I was also part of the team that redesigned our training for online delivery, enabling us to deliver community organising training to cohorts of international students.

In April 2021 Community Roots CIC was a catalyst organisation for Feeding Gloucestershire, from that point onwards I volunteered as the Network Coordinator, reaching out and connecting with organisations across the county to introduce them to Feeding Gloucestershire and its potential. In April 2022 I was contracted as Network coordinator for Feeding Gloucestershire, my main role being to support our network organisations, I am also the administrative lead for Feeding Gloucestershire.In February 2023 I became the district lead for the work Feeding Gloucestershire is undertaking in Cheltenham, Gloucester and Tewkesbury.The aim of Feeding Gloucestershire is to create a Network of organisations across Gloucestershire that are working collectively to identify issues and solutions for a better food system in the County. The Network will support innovation, promote best practice and encourage collaborative action between communities, producers, and policy makers (https://www.feedinggloucestershire.org.uk/).

The aims of Journeyman were:• to help communities access arts and crafts, through providing workshops in creative activities.• to use creativity to improve the personal wellbeing of participants – supporting them to explore their personal creativity and to learn new skills.• to promote the power of art to make positive change in communities, promoting inclusiveness and reducing social isolation.Through listening to participants, we were able to tailor our work to reflect their passions and we promoted a collective decision making process which led to an increase in their personal interest and investment.

A registered charity supporting and promoting the work of the many voluntary arts societies in Cheltenham, with more than 60 member societies representing all branches of the arts: music, drama, visual arts, history, languages and literature.http://www.cheltenhamartscouncil.co.uk/

In July 2015 I joined The St Peters and the Moors Big Local Project both as part of the resident committee and a member of the Partnership Board (the projects steering group -which was responsible for making the strategic decisions).In October 2015 I became the project secretary and, in addition to fulfilling the traditional role of a committee secretary, I was also involved in several of the project’s initiatives.

Faber Pyropus was a Fine Art Bronze Foundry based in Cheltenham, UK.The foundry's aim was to ensure artist's visions for their work were realised through producing high quality sculptures in Bronze and Silver.My role was to ensure that the work of each artist was produced to the highest standard within the time frame desired.My responsibilities included scheduling workflow through the foundry, liaising with artists to ensure we met the requirements they set and management of staff. In addition to this I was the Administrative Manager for the foundry and P.A. to the Managing Director.

As head of the Wax Department it was my responsibility to ensure all waxes were produced to the highest standards, liaise with artists and ensure departmental scheduling ran within overall foundry requirements

I ran my own business making garments based on historical research, for re-enactors, museums and theatre companies
