    Prior to working at Montana State University, I was a tenured teacher at Bozeman High School and also taught at Willow Creek School (both in Montana) and at Buffalo High School in Wyoming. Additionally, I worked as a literacy specialist and grant writer in a workforce development program for rural, at-risk youth through the Human Resource Development Council in Bozeman for one year. I taught English composition, served on district writing committees, taught Spanish I, II, and III, and was yearbook adviser, drama coach, Spanish and international club adviser. My love of teaching and working with youth continues to be a strong part of who I am today. My teaching is energetic and creative...no "canned" lesson plans or boring assignments for my students! I want students to learn things that are useful in today's world and to apply their knowledge actively.
