As Chief Executive Officer during one of the strongest growth periods as well as one of the deepest troughs experienced in the sector, I needed to not only ensure that member companies in this state were able to participate in the decision making processes of government, but also maintain engagement within the Institute to ensure the best ideas were put forward. Of course ensuring the financial viability of the Institute was critical and improving the financial position of the Institute ten-fold across my nine year tenure was personally satisfying. The role at UDIA triggered a deep curiosity about the future of housing and urban spaces and the impact that the technological revolution, which we are currently undergoing, will have on how we live, work and play.
