24 hour responsibility for 20 patient general surgery and 23 patient orthopedic division. Development and training for professional and non professional staff members, evaluations, disciplinary action and termination and budgetary responsibility. Developing shared accountability council to implement new delivery system for a fast pace department. Focused on customer service and exceeding established goals.  Participant on move coordination team for the move to the new St. Clare’s Medical Center Oversaw renovation of orthopedic division, establishing staffing, department budget and process improvements, providing patients with private rooms Coordinated move of surgical division to 20 private room area, defining staffing patterns to stay with budgetary constraints.

Directed 24-hour operation of three acute care nursing departments: 22-bed Coronary/Medical Intensive Care Unit, 12-bed Interventional Cardiac Care Unit and 4-station Acute Dialysis Department. Managed 80 professional and 10-15 non-professional staff members within the three departments. Prepared and oversaw operational budget of $3 million. Researched and coordinated capital purchases for all three departments. Recruited and interviewed for staff positions, hired for vacant positions and oversaw staff training and development. Delivered ongoing employee evaluations, disciplinary action and discharges.
