Debra Krotish Email and Phone Number

Debra Krotish, PhD, is the Executive Director for Friends of CerviCusco, a nonprofit that facilitates educational and volunteer opportunities for students and giving people with a servant aptitude. She has held multiple positions for USC School of Medicine and Palmetto Health, now Prisma Health. Dr. Krotish was the Executive Director for the Center of Economic Excellence for the State of South Carolina, SeniorSMART®, a $21 million center with the three research universities (USC, Clemson University and the MUSC), the two hospital systems (Greenville University Medical Center and Palmetto Health) and the local VA Hospital as partners. With funding from the SC Legislature, the center was under the tutelage of Dr. Krotish from 2007 until 2013, facilitating multiple collaborations between national and international (University of Kaiserslautern, Fraunhofer Institute, SINTEF, Norway; CASALA in Ireland; Xorcom, Israel) teams for research in the health care setting. She works diligently on nonprofit committees and boards such as the Organizing Committee for CODATA International, a Committee on Data for Science and Technology. She is also on the Biomedical Executive Board for the University of South Carolina and the Subcommittee for Public Relations and Foundation for the American Geriatrics Society. Dr. Krotish brought together multidisciplinary teams on several projects. She was the PI on an NIH SBIR grant that was to bring an ambient fall detection system to market and create an algorithm to identify gait patterns that deviate from normal expectations. She has coordinated research in the clinical setting both in the United States and in Peru where multidisciplinary teams in patient treatment are critical. She enjoys working on Quality Improvement and Clinical Initiatives.
