I address the underlying neurologically based perceptual and cognitive issues that cause students to struggle to learn (i.e., working memory, visual-motor skills, visual and auditory processing) so that the process of learning becomes easier and they catch up with their peers academically. NILD educational therapy strengthens cognitive and perceptual weakness that interfere in a student's ability to function at his/her academic ability level. Based on the science of neuroplasticity, NILD therapy utilizes techniques and the mediated learning experience to build neural pathways and strengthen connections in the brain in order to guide students with learning disabilities to be successful independent learners.
