I am an early STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Pioneer. I was one of the first handful of women to graduate from Lehigh University with a BS in Chemical Engineering. The path of a pioneer is not always easy.At one point, my direction was unclear; I felt stuck. I heard a Presidential speech that inspired me to make one of the best decisions I have ever made. It went something like this: You have to find what you’re good at and pursue that path. The fate of the nation is in the hands of the people. I went back to college as a non-traditional student and pursued engineering. I found what I was good at. But still seeking my passion. Then, in graduate school, I became a teaching assistant. I discovered that I had a talent for explaining complex, technical concepts so students could easily understand and apply them. I found my passion. My career path - engineer, teacher, trainer, leader - has molded me into a Subject Matter Expert, SME, combining my technical and workforce development talents to benefit employees, employers and the greater workforce at large.
