The Culture Crush was founded by French and Italian Vogue veteran Debra Scherer, whose work crosses boundaries between journalism, photography, filmmaking, and creative direction—all with an eye on beauty and the cultural narrative. As a creative executive producer, she develops and curates multi dimensional stories that call communities to the forefront. With her unique ability to maneuver from the street to the Atelier, Debra builds capital through her editorial and commercial work on documentary films, video, print publications, design, podcasts, catalogues, opinion pieces, and social media assets.

Editor, writer, photographer, filmmaker... “editor at large” working with Franca Sozzani for Italian Vogue, Casa Vogue and L’Uomo Vogue. Focusing on pop culture visionaries, mythical places, and ways of living, making the link between aesthetics, fashion and pop culture.

As fashion editor during the period when Joan Juliette Buck had taken the reigns, working with photographers such as Steven Klein, Jeanloup Sieff and Albert Watson while being the bridge between the feature and fashion departments. It was a time to consider what Paris Vogue should look like in the age of “heroin chic.” Skills developed in working with advertisers to incorporate their products into story ideas as well as working with photographers and other fashion editors on staff to realize the overall image for the magazine.
