During my career with the Phoenix Suns organization, I held progressively broader responsibilities in public relations, marketing, and community relations. The hallmark of my tenure was developing and executing creative programs that advanced the reputation and growth of the company.I led start-up marketing for America West Arena (now Talking Stick Resort Arena), established the brand in Arizona, developed all communications programming, launched B2B marketing to drive bookings for the new arena, and supported show marketing.Rapid company growth under Jerry Colangelo's leadership offered me the opportunity to serve as Vice President of Public Relations for a new in-house marketing agency, SRO Communications, where I led the team providing public relations account services for the Phoenix Suns, Arizona Diamondbacks, America West Arena, Bank One Ballpark (now Chase Field) and other related companies. I developed and led programs to drive brand loyalty and increase sales. A promotion to the Phoenix Suns front office gave me the opportunity to build the franchise's public relations scope beyond sports communications. I collaborated with the public and private sector on downtown development, promoting sports as an economic engine. I created and led signature special events such as the Jerry Colangelo Celebrity Roast, the Charles Barkley All-Star Celebrity Roast, Ring of Honor ceremonies, and played a significant role in hosting the 1992 NBA Western Conference Champions Parade. I was then asked to take on dual roles: Vice President of Community Relations and Executive Director of Phoenix Suns Charities, where led a board of 50 community leaders as we raised more than $1 million annually and managed its investment in Arizona charities and schools.
