Deb Workman grew up in Pierre, SD. Her professional experience includes many different areas in both the Theatre and Business industries. She studied theatre and dance at the University of South Dakota, the University of Minnesota, and the New World School of the Arts, Miami, FL. She spent four years in New York City where she was involved in business management, as well as many diverse theatrical experiences. Deb has been a company member of the Black Hills Playhouse for many years; some seasons as choreographer, and some in the business arena. The BHP is a professional summer stock theatre located in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota and it is also where she met her delightful husband Dan. In 1999, Deb and Dan created the Children's Theatre Company of South Dakota as an outreach of the Black Hills Playhouse. They were the very first tour team for the company, along with their 2 year old son, Dylan! What they learned on the road has been invaluable for guiding the teams year after year and really knowing and understanding the difference the arts makes one child at a time. In 2010, CTCSD incorporated as it's own 501(c)3 and became Dakota Players. Deb has a passion for people and learning and for making a difference. She is a hardworking business woman and mother to 3 amazing humans.
