An affiliate of the Smithsonian Institute . A vibrant museum exploring the textile industry and the powerful part that it played in american industrialization. A world renown collection and conservation department along with active, and engaging exhibits, the museum drew world wide enthusiasts. In my roll as product development manager, I was able to take a museum by-product and create an active revenue source, including a marketing plan and carry out, promotion,sales,product development and attendance of trade shows. As museum store manager, I was in charge of a $250,000 budget, wrote business and marketing plans. I did all the buying,merchandising as well as training, hiring,recruiting of 6 employees and my assistant. I was able to decrease the operating budget by 6 thousand dollars in less than 3 months, increased per person sales from 2$ to 8$ and created an entirely new revenue generating department within 18 months. As a core part of the management team, I actively participated in Fund Raising Event Planning and carried out proposals to the Board of Directors. Managed daily operations of retail and wholesale departments including buying, marketing,sales management, hiring and training of employees, yearly business plans, quarterly reporting and analytics.
