Director Of Exhibition Permanent Hall Strategy
CurrentWork with colleagues across the Museum to assess the current experience and condition of permanent halls, develop strategies for remediation and improvement, test and evaluate through prototyping, and develop implementation plans for successful strategies.• Through consultation with colleagues and visitor evaluation, assess the current state of permanent halls in terms of content, exhibit design, user experience, and physical condition.• Research, develop, and test strategies to update interpretation, exhibit design, user experience, physical condition, accessibility, and more.• Develop museum experiences and interpretation through all phases, from concept to production, including exhibits, interpretive graphics, digital interactives, games, and media. • Manage content producers across multiple disciplines to achieve project intent, schedule, and budget. • Collaborate with staff across the museum and beyond, including scientific curators, exhibit designers, educators, public program developers, development, marketing, and outside designers and experts.• Manage bi-monthly Exhibition DEI Workshop, and help to develop new strategies for culturally diverse and sensitive interpretation across the museum.• Formerly Associate Director of Gilder Exhibit Content: Oversaw development of content and visitor experience for the new Richard Gilder Center for Science, Education, and Innovation (completion expected spring 2023) and other projects, including the Insectarium, the Butterfly Vivarium, and the three-story Collections Core, and the renovated Halls of Gems & Minerals (reopened 2021).
