I am an existential psychotherapist seeing adults in individual therapy, both short and long term. I work across two central London settings, in Marylebone and Fitzrovia. My emphasis is on seeing personal difficulties as problems of living, rather than as illnesses that need to be cured. My approach is based on my belief in the powerful potential of dialogue, and the therapeutic relationship, to engender transformational change; my aim is to assist people in becoming empowered as agents of change in their own lives.

My role at St. Mary's Hospital, Paddington, is within Contact, a service run by the Imperial College NHS Trust. I work within the service as a counsellor seeing employees of the hospital, working therapeutically with a range of issues from stress management, bereavement, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, etc. I value enormously the diversity of the clients with whom I work in this setting, and it is important to me to balance my private practice with work in the NHS.

I worked in individual and couples counselling in a high-profile sexual health charity, the Terrence Higgins Trust. THT is committed to advocacy for people living with HiV and AIDS, and has a very distinctive inclusive ethos around sexuality that I wanted to support through my pro bono work there as a therapist.

I was a focal counsellor/therapist and group facilitator at Hope House, London's only all-women residential treatment centre for drugs and alcohol addiction. Hope House is part of the leading addiction charity Action on Addiction, which does life transforming work with people struggling with substance abuse. My time here also included significant experience working in the related areas of eating disorders and other process addictions.
