Debrah Lee Charatan is the founder, principal and president of BCB Property Management Inc., where she looks for multifamily and mixed-use properties with considerable potential for long-term returns on investment. Firmly entrenched in the world of real estate for the past four decades, Charatan brings a wealth of expertise in commercial real estate sales to her work at BCB, along with industry-wide recognition as a pioneer in her field.Debrah opened BCB after many years as president of Debrah Lee Charatan Realty Inc. and, earlier, Bach Realty Inc. – two highly successful brokerage firms based in the greater New York area. Through these businesses, Charatan earned considerable accolades for her savvy in real estate and as an entrepreneur, with a litany of honors and accomplishments accrued along the way. Named Entrepreneurial Woman of the Year by Women Business Owners of New York, Glamour magazine’s Outstanding Working Woman, and an inductee to the YWCA Academy of Working Achievers, Charatan has been featured in dozens of nationwide media outlets, including The CBS Morning News, Fortune, Inc., USA Today, Cosmopolitan and Forbes. A prolific writer and instructor as well, Charatan authored numerous articles for the New York Law Journal, Real Estate Weekly and Real Estate Forum, and previously taught courses on commercial real estate at New York University and Queens College.An active philanthropist, Debrah Lee Charatan also runs the Charatan / Holm Family Foundation, which donates to several civic, cultural and charitable organizations in New York and beyond. She is currently vice chair of Selfhelp Community Services Foundation’s board of trustees, on the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Real Estate Council and in the Jewish Partisan Educational Foundation’s Gevurah Society. She lives and works in New York.
