As the Executive Director of the Association for Black Economic Power I am assisting the organization in fulfilling its goal of establishing Minnesota's first Black-led community credit union dedicated to addressing the needs of the residents who live, work, or worship in Hennepin and Ramsey counties.

Directly responsible for overseeing the administration, programs and strategic initiatives of the Illinois Optometric Association.

As the Executive Director of the Minnesota Chiropractic Association, I was responsible for the overall operation of the association. In that capacity I assisted the Board of Directors in formulating the organization's strategic priorities and fulfilling its responsibility to set policy. In addition to general member and nonmember outreach, I also assisted the local districts in providing services and programs at the local level.My specific duties included financial management, staff management, strategic plan fulfillment, membership outreach, recruitment and development, project management as well as working with committees well administering all activities of the association in accordance with the governing documents. Additionally, I oversaw the organizations legislative advocacy, political action committee fundraising and administration while forming collaborations on key initiatives.

At the Michigan Dental Association, I directed membership recruiting efforts, identified emerging needs of members and worked with the various departments to create new and enhance existing services that assist members. A summary of my responsibilities included:• Establishing programs and initiatives to increase membership. Direct the development of communications materials promoting membership in the association. • Managed the membership database and analyze membership trends. • Worked with members to resolve issues related to membership or services. Collaborated with dental schools to encourage participation in dental practice as well as membership in the association. • Assisted in the development of programs to aide new dentists with their transition into the dental profession. • Managed both the membership and business systems departments (computer/electronic communications).

I created the overall branding and marketing strategy for the association’s products and services. I managed all media, public relations and community relations activities and initiatives and served as the key media liaison and association spokesperson. I provided media training for selected staff and volunteer leaders and developed key issue papers and talking points.To enhance the banking profession's position on key issues, I created proactive public awareness initiatives in addition to assisting member banks with their marketing, media and community relation objectives. As the publication editor, I transformed the association newsletter into a statewide magazine fully supported by advertising revenue. I also developed and managed the marketing budget in conjunction with the organization strategic priorities.
