Working within the Economy & Growth team within the Culture, Heritage, Leisure & Tourism area with a focus on the visitor economy, tourism and events. I work on marketing North East Lincolnshire as a visitor destination, manage digital activity for Discover North East Lincolnshire, the area’s official tourism brand, advertising and marketing campaignsKey achievements include:* Project managed the transition to a new tourism website using the Discover North East Lincolnshire brand. Planning web content, writing pages and sourcing relevant images, achieving record unique visitor hits for 2022;* Introduction of a monthly eNewsletter for Discover North East Lincolnshire, growing our subscriber base from zero at the start of 2022. I source, write and create interesting and unique content with a good open rate.* Development with local tourism businesses, providing a point of contact for queries, funding and support enquiries, building relationships for the benefit of the visitor economy sector.* Management of the brand’s social media channels including Facebook and Instagram, building high growth in follower numbers and engagement.* Creation of new visitor attractions in Immingham incorporating the Mayflower Pilgrims. Supporting the town to take advantage of the Mayflower 400 commemorations, I wrote a successful funding application to create a new exhibition in the museum and a new heritage trail around the town. I represented NE Lincs at national partnership meetings;* Representing NE Lincs at the British Tourism & Travel Show at Birmingham NEC aimed at the domestic group travel market. I wrote and designed a new information pack for group tour operators and worked with local providers to highlight new tours & experiences to entice visitors to our area. I continue to support local small businesses, ensuring Small Business Saturday UK forms part of the council’s calendar and welcoming the SBS tour team to Grimsby for four years.
