Managing small group tours for an adventure holiday company in Greece & Egypt and operating centre based touring holidays in the UK.

Managing accounts and administration function of SME manufacturing company:Preparation of accounts to month and year end using Sage computerised accounts; journals, calculating and entering prepayments & accruals; checking balance sheet accounts and trial balance statements at month/year end. Daily cash sheet monitoring & weekly bank reconciliation; maintaining pettycash; staff expenses.Balancing and submitting VAT returns;Instratat information.Recruiting, training and managing accounts department staff. Operating weekly payroll; checking clockcards for weekly employees and inputting into Sage Payroll.Producing sales analysis for the company by implementing cost centres. Managing IT, telecommunications, accounting and admin functions.Implementation, maintenance and development of IT and tele-communications network. Using Microsoft Access I developed a database system for the sales team to produce their own sales quotations and costings.Report writing by converting Sage data into spreadsheets using pivot tables to produce management information for sales analysis. The IT role developed from that of accounts manager and I remained directly involved with the recruitment, training and management of administration and accounting staff, with the Management Accountant reporting directly to me. Also in the team were 2 purchase ledger clerks, 1 sales ledger clerk and a receptionist. The company attained Investor in People accreditation in 1998 and I was actively involved in setting up training and development procedures for all staff and held appraisals and meetings within the accounts/administration department.
