As the Executive Director for the Graceland Experience, I am passionate about ensuring Graceland students, staff, faculty, alumni and friends maintain connected to the community and the learning pathways offered within our exceptional learning environment. Our goal is to help students achieve both their educational and professional goals, as well as, provide opportunities for leadership development and personal growth. With over 25 years experience at Graceland, and in higher education, I can proudly say we offer incredible facilities, top notch faculty, an impressive amount of hands-on learning and leadership development opportunities, all within a highly engaged life-long community which truly believes in The Power of TOGETHER . Skilled in Team Development, Leadership Development, Group Facilitation, Community Development, Enrollment, Student Conduct, Development of Policies and Procedures, Academic Advising, Career Services, Student Financial Services, Volunteer Management, Public Speaking, and Program Development, I am a well-rounded administrator with an M.S.Ed. focused in Higher Education/Higher Education Administration from Drake University. I am a veteran manager and trainer. I hire and develop strong dynamic work teams, and design effective training and assessment programs to support organizational objectives.Along with five years experience as an investigator in Law Enforcement, 15 years of Sexual Misconduct/Title IX investigations in Higher Education, I am also a veteran investigator. As the Director of Residence Life, I was passionate about creating intentional environments which facilitate holistic living and learning environments for our students and staff - from the safety and aesthetics of the physical spaces to the programs and procedures which operate within them. If resources are to be focused in an area, I take pride in collaborating effectively with others to investigate and learn about the needs of those spaces. Creatively using resources to shape an work and learning environment is a challenge I truly enjoy. It is rewarding for me to employ what I know about an organizational culture and mission, physical safety principles, along with those of organizational behavior, to influence the design and allocation of space, function, access, aesthetic design, learning and behavior within the teams, programs and facilities in which I oversee.
