Changing my professional focus from SharePoint to Cloud Technologies beginning in January of 2017 JHC Technology Inc . I worked diligently toward a new role in AWS Cloud Engineering. AWS Cloud Certifications is a way to represent training and knowledge in a specific function as a Cloud Professional in a specific Cloud Platform. Because Cloud Engineers will likely touch almost all facets of an environment including Architecture, Development, Administration, Operations, Security and Compliance. I directed all my energy to acquire as much working knowledge and skills in a subset of tools and technologies that are very challenging. By actively working on projects that require hands on activities and collaboration and knowledge sharing with JHC teams, I was very motivated to push my technical development further. I have acquired the Solutions Architect Associate Certification in May, 2017, in less then 7 months in the field, I achieved the AWS Developer Associate Certification in Dec, 2017. I continued my Technical training and achieved my AWS Certified SysOps Admin Certification Sept, 2018. My latest achievement was acquiring AWS DevOps Professional Certification in Feb, 2019. My goal is to continue seeking professional level certification in AWS Cloud platform.

I was part of the Application Hosting Team, responsible for coordinating and managing the successful operation of NIAID’s web-based client-server Windows applications. Our team worked with developers to integrate code into the existing applications, and provides daily management and administration of NIAID’s application hosting environment. This includes administration of critical SharePoint farms and a variety of other applications hosted by NIH and NIAID. The Application Hosting team primary responsibilities are Design/Implement/Manage backend infrastructure for SharePoint and other hosted applications. Monitoring for application outages, and responding to outages and customer issues. . We planned, developed and implemented application upgrades and migrations. Daily tasks included troubleshooting and resolving performance problems and issues in both Custom and COT applications. Modifying SharePoint configurations, as needed, to support enhancements and integration with other applications, and applying security patches, service packs, and infrastructure updates, and preform SSL certificates updates. The Configuration and execution of SharePoint and SQL Server backups/recovery processes were part of our activities. The Application Hosting Team was tasked with Coordinating with Network and Database Server Administrators to ensure the environment remains, healthy, stable and operational.

During this period, I worked as the SharePoint/Systems Administrator for JHC Technology, Inc. and their cloud based infrastructure. My responsibilities included the creation and deletion of user accounts, the creation and deletion of SharePoint sites, SharePoint site administration to include site permissions, creation of workflows and forms, BlackBerry device activation and troubleshooting, and Exchange account creation and deletion. Additionally, I supported thousands of users from client organizations and provide Tier 2/3 services on SharePoint and other Microsoft Enterprise applications.My responsibilities also include training new employees, primarily on SharePoint and Cloud Services. I have created training videos and documents to assist more junior resources to become proficient in SharePoint, Cloud, Active Directory, and Exchange administration.

During this period, I worked as a freelance IT services consultant. As a 1099 employee, I provided services both remotely and onsite to systems integrators to support their customer’s IT systems. My primary areas of support were SharePoint 2007/2010 site permissions and site design, Active Directory account creation, deletion and maintenance, Cloud based server administration and backups, and client workstation/laptop configuration and administration.I was also able to provide services on several web design engagements. These engagements primarily focused on the production of designs, mock-ups, and wire frames on SharePoint, HTML, and Adobe Dreamweaver based websites. My role was to provide design and style recommendations to the site and also to create the wire frames and mock-ups, based on the engineers’ layouts, for presentation to the customer.
