Declan has a diverse background in creative fields, both on stage and behind the camera.As a stage actor in his teens and early 20s, he worked with Premier Productions, performing across Ireland. In 2016, he acted in Martin McDonagh’s “The Cripple of Inishmaan” at the Martin McDonagh Festival in Perm, Russia, where his cast won Best Ensemble Cast. In 2018, he toured with Ron Hutchinson’s “The Rat in the Skull,” performing in Ireland and at St George’s Hall in Liverpool.From 2018 to 2019, Declan was the Digital Arts Director for the Gateway Region YMCA, creating marketing materials and producing 3,000 photos and three videos per week during the summer.Between 2016 and 2020, he worked with BEAM Creative Network as a Drama Facilitator. He developed and delivered drama workshops in schools across Northern Ireland, collaborating with the PSNI, Belfast City Council, and the National Lottery. He also led workshops for young adults with special needs.Declan has worked on projects with Extras NI, including 20th Century Fox’s “The Keeper” and co-writing/co-directing the ‘Take 5’ initiative launch video “Heads Up,” which raises awareness about mental health in schools.He holds a BA (First Class Honours) in Media Production for Film & TV, focusing on Virtual Production using Unreal Engine 5. He has worked as a freelance Editor/Videographer for Mocha Film & TV and completed his trainee Directorship with Cinemagic Screen Skills, training under Director Keith O’Grady on the short film “Bitter Pills and Sunflowers.”Declan is also an accomplished athlete with RNLI Pool Lifeguard and YMCA Lake Lifeguard qualifications. In 2018, he represented the YMCA of the Ozarks lake lifeguard swim team, winning two trophies and placing second in another competition. He also holds a Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award and an ALCM Teaching Diploma in Speech and Drama awarded by the London College of Music and DramaCurrently, Declan works for Marick Partners Ltd., an integrated creative communications agency based in Manchester Quay.
