Technical Assurance - Capital Delivery
Worked as Technical Assurance Specialist in the area of Capital Delivery. I was responsible for technical monitoring and compliance with Irish Water Policies, Procedures and Irish Legislative requirements across the Irish Water Capital Programme. The role covered all the elements of contract management, in particular key elements such as cost, time, quality and safety. The role required projects to be monitored to ensure technical compliance and delivery within budget, to a high standard of quality. The role also involved project programme management/ monitoring while ensuring high standards in construction safety. The Irish Water Capital spend was €340m in 2014.

When I moved from this role into Technical Assurance in Irish Water, approximately 20,000 meters had been installed ahead of programme with an excellent safety record. On the 7th May 2015 the target of 100,000 meters installed was achieved.
Construction Manager
Shanganagh Waste Water Treatment Plant, Dublin. 2008 - 2012.I was the Construction Manager on this €75m scheme. The upgraded plant provides for full secondary treatment of wastewater using innovative technology in wastewater and sludge treatment, energy recovery, and environmental management. The standards at the facility set new benchmarks for excellence at such plants in Ireland. I was directly responsible for the Civil Engineering and Building aspects on the Project from design development, through subcontract procurement, management to commissioning and hand over to the client Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council. The project resulted in the improvement of water quality in Dublin Bay and the awarding of the blue flag to the local beaches in Killiney and Bray. Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council reported that it was "pleased with the completion of this major infrastructural development, which was constructed without major incident in a densely populated area in the south of the County.
