I have been a teacher at St Mel,s College since 1991 having been a student there between 1976 and 1982. I have been involved in the GAA all my life and have managed at colleges ,club ,county level. I am presently Principal at St Mels College and I welcome all the support out there to push the college on in the years ahead.GAA is very much part of my life having played with my native Killoe Young Emmets,St Mel's College,Longford and Thomond College ,Limerick.I have been lucky enough to win a Leinster Colleges Senior title with St Mel's in 1982 and also coach the school to a Leinster Senior title in 1994.I have also been fortunate to play in 5 County senior finals with killoe winning titles in 1988,1993 and 1995 ,captaining the team in 1988.I have been involved in team management since 1997 with successes including an Intermediate title with Ballymachugh in Cavan in 1999,a Longford Senior championship and League double with Abbeylara in 2000 and a senior championship ,senior league and feis cup treble with St Lomans Mullingar in 2013.Having returned to my own club Killoe Young Emmet's in 2015 we won the Senior Championship and Leader Cup Double and were defeated by Portlaoise in the Leinster Club 1/2 final. I was involved at inter County level as Manager of the Leitrim Senior team 2002-2005 and joint manager of the Longford senior and U-21 teams 2005-2007.I also have the experience of managing the Ireland U-17 Compromise Rules teams in 2001and 2002 and travelling to Australia with them in 2002.
