On finishing secondary school in June 2002 and completing and passing my leaving certificate, I applied to Shannon Aerospace where i started my training as an MESC (Mechanical Electrical Structural and Composite) Technician. I was part of MESC class 7.I qualified in Febuary 2005 to the structures work station on line 4, working mainly on B767 but gaining experience on B737, B757, A319, A320, A321.I have been involved in many different types of repairs and modifications, some examples been 767 pylon SIP mods and 767 Body Station 955 repairs. Skin repairs, floor beam repairs and composite repairs.I was lucky enough to join the NDT team in Febuary 2009 to present.In my role as an NDT Technician, I have been gathering invaluable experience in the different methods, High Frequency Eddy Current, Flourescent Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Ultrasonics, Radiography and Thermography.At the moment I hold level 2 approval for all 6 Methods. ET, PT, MT, UT, IRT & TT. I have also completed a working at heights teacher training course and a IPAF Demonstrator and tutor training course. Together with a FETAC level 6 Train the Trainer course that I have completed, I have combined my working at heights and IPAF Training to enable me to design and deliever in house training for fellow colleagues.
