As a Chartered Environmentalist with fifteen years of specialised experience in the environmental sector, my expertise is centered on Air Quality, Dust, and Odour Impact Assessments. I have managed and delivered impact assessments for various local planning applications, including those requiring Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) across the British Isles and currently within New South Wales, Australia.My works to date include detailed atmospheric dispersion modeling for various sectors, including industrial processes regulated by Northern Ireland Environment Agency and EPA Ireland, road transport schemes across the British Isles to inform Transport Analysis Guidance (TAG) studies and Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), as well as a wide range of commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments. My role ensures adherence to regulatory standards while actively supporting sustainable planning and development practices.I am adept in environmental monitoring activities that support and complement these assessments, including:1) Dust and Particulate Monitoring: Executed continuous, deposition, and directional monitoring at regulated facilities, construction sites, and pre-development lands to establish baseline conditions.2) Ambient Air Monitoring: Conducted for a range of pollutants, including the BTEX suite and nitrogen dioxide.3) Workplace Exposure Monitoring: Focused on grain dust at distilleries and animal feed production sites.4) Passive Diffusion Tube Studies: Implemented for mixed-use developments and highway schemes across Great Britain and Northern Ireland, commissioned by governmental bodies.5) Odour Sampling: Performed at Wastewater Treatment Works and subjective impact assessments.My experience also extends to Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) monitoring at industrial premises across Northern Ireland, Noise monitoring for residential, commercial, and industrial schemes, Wind Farm site suitability assessments, Occupational Exposure monitoring, and Asbestos Management surveying (Types 2 and 3). I was involved in continuous analyser site suitability studies as part of National Highways' air quality improvement initiatives from J28 to J35a of the M1, enhancing environmental conditions around the Strategic Road Network (SRN).
