It is especially important in addressing malnutrition which leads to ill health, hospitalisation, slow recovery and recurrent illness. It is an area that is of increasing importance as populations age with the potential to significantly improve health and well-being.Very happy to be involved in the area of nutrition – something that has always had a special interest for me.

Managing a trade association representing the European animal health industry. The industry has an annual turnover of €4.3 billion and employs 15,000 people in Europe. My function as managing director was to manage a multidisciplinary team of 13 people such that the strategic objectives of the Board were delivered. Member of the DG Sanco Advisory Group on the Food Chain & Animal & Plant Health. Member of the EFSA Stakeholder Platform.

The Association represents the manufacturers and sole agents of Animal Health products and Plant Protection products. As Director, my duties involved representing the interests of the manufacturers to Government and other interested parties. The Association acts as an important source of information for the industries.

Countrywide responsibility for technical product development including the introduction of new products and responsibility for sales directly to retailers in the southern half of the country.

Duties involved supplying the input requirements of the farmer members of the Co-op along with technical advice.
