As the focus of my PhD, I am researching cyanobacterial metabolic systems at Robert Gordon University. My main interest is in understanding how environmental variables function holistically to affect the metabolic state of cyanobacteria.

After completing my undergraduate degree in Immunology and Microbiology, I worked as a graduate scientist for Simpsons Malt based in Berwick-Upon-Tweed. My duties included carrying out HPLC analysis of peated malts, wastewater treatment analysis and laboratory maintenance.
