About Deddy Gan

Over 20 years of experience working for multinational organisations, ranging from audit, strategy consulting, M&A (buy-side analyst) to open innovation in Asia, North America, Middle East and Europe.My greatest passion is identifying quality opportunities in 'white spaces' and leading those executions. So far, I have created many firsts: 1) In Fidelity: I led the launch of Patent Office, Employee Inventions Programme and the commercialisation of technology product, and others 2) In Barclays, I founded and led the launch of the Barclays Accelerator (a start-up programme designed to capture, shape and scale the world's financial-technology ("fintech") start-ups, with a view to maintaining the bank's position as a leading financial institution - first in London and later expanding it to New York, Cape Town and Tel Aviv). During this time, several commercial partnerships, investment deals and client relationships were created. Prior to Fidelity and Barclays, I worked in Dubai for Barclays Africa, a regional office for ten countries in Africa and Indian Ocean. In this office, I took a leading role in all the bank's organic and inorganic growth initiatives, ranging from the purchase of financial assets to the sale of non-core financial assets. Prior to joining Barclays, I held positions in the area of corporate strategy with First Gulf Bank (UAE) and DBS Bank (one of Asia's leading banks, based in Singapore); and before these at Accenture and other global management consultants.
