Did you know that only around 3% of Commercial Real Estate Investors are women?Many women who excel in residential real estate often question their ability and value when stepping into the bigger arena of multifamily or self-storage investments.Why? That’s a great question, and I’d love to share my thoughts! For generations, women have been told that men are better at business. Many of us have been conditioned to believe that we aren’t "enough"—not smart enough, capable enough, or even equipped to handle the complexities of commercial real estate. We tend to be more risk-averse, and after years of not feeling taken seriously, some might wonder, “Why even bother?”But I’m here to say: You are enough, and you can excel in this space!After a career in Children’s Ministry and owning an advertising agency, I decided it was time to ditch the traditional work grind for a life filled with more freedom, family time, and joy. That’s when I founded Boring & Co, a family-owned real estate investment business focusing primarily on self-storage acquisitions. Today, I’m proud to own 1,685 self-storage units, covering over 205,000 square feet of real estate. Along the way, I also created Wise: Wise Women Invest in Real Estate, a networking group designed to empower women to feel confident making BIG moves in the Commercial Real Estate space. We help women realize that investing in assets like multifamily, self-storage, RV parks, senior living, or office buildings is not out of reach—it’s entirely possible, and you don’t have to do it alone! My passion is helping women overcome the limiting beliefs that have held them back for generations. Through Wise, we’re building a community where women support each other in achieving the financial success they deserve.On a personal note, I’ve found a way to balance my work and family life in ways that bring me joy. I’m able to step away from work for the things that truly matter—like Grandparents’ Day or a soccer game—because my real estate investments have given me the flexibility I craved. Nothing brings me more joy than my family, and I’m grateful for a career that allows me to be fully present in their lives.
