I was a bicycle mechanic for 10 years before entering the USPS as a letter carrier. I loved being a mechanic: solving problems, using my expertise to improve the world by enabling cycling, being a helpful and respected fixture in my community.While there are aspects of my current job as a letter carrier I enjoy greatly, I would like to do bigger things - solve problems, build solutions. I am a creative type and a problem-solver.As a worker, I show up and I do the job; I take out the trash and clean the toilet if it needs to be cleaned. By this I mean, I am a safe bet: I can work comfortably with all types of people in all situations and if a job needs to get done that nobody wants to do, I do it. I am flexible and easy to get along with.I have education in life cycle analysis, triple bottom line business practices, US environmental law, and sustainability policy and strategies.
