Title: Producer for World Vasectomy Day. Because we produce a huge media event in a new country every year, and because we are growing so fast, my job duties change constantly. I served as a production director for JWJ Enterprises, Murdoch Magazines, and Reed, Inc. before becoming a consultant. My own past expertise in running a twice-weekly publication, scheduling third-party collaboration, negotiating for new technologies, and directing workflow on a large scale helped me add value to my clients' endeavors. Teaching seminars, writing articles for our industry, and connecting with many talented individuals has helped keep me ahead of most trends. I've also worked as an executive at a crisis center for women, helped establish an energy coop for low income families, created a small business for displaced homemakers, raised money for various charitable causes, and taught English as a second language in Ecuador. I've organized group trips for artists to Europe and Central America, and taught English, Spanish and art at an alternative high school.

Producing the event entails: Building relationships with governmental agencies and other organizations both to conceptualize the project, get buy in, and then solidify the expectations and responsibilities of each entity, creating the logistics to accomplish the various goals each year. Allocating the tasks required to achieve the intended outcomes, from building e-newsletters to creating robust websites, to managing databases of doctors and vasectomy acceptors, to editing and writing blogs and social media posts, to building and maintaining budgets, to handling all the cash transactions in foreign currency, to rectifying expenditures, finding live-streaming experts, hiring camera crew, setting up Skype interviews during a live broadcast, to working with in-country partners to create a health fair for men, a symposium for doctors, or coordinating with city and national government in Mexico to produce a large day-long public event with music, videos, and speakers are all skills I have acquired.Managing staff accommodations, expense reports and payment, and transportation arrangements, as well as team communication through shared software and logistics are also part of these duties.Handling all database list normalization and clean-up, particularly since our databases are global and names contain many special characters, as well as updates to various software apps that require our databases, and the coding of email messages to personalize mailings using the data.Grant research and writing, donor management, and fundraising, art direction for logos and promo product design, creative ideas for raising funds, personal outreach and follow up to large donors, filling out requirements for raising our status on Guidestar.
