Dr. Dedrick Sims is a respected leader in equity, education, and nonprofit development. As CEO of the Sims-Fayola Foundation, he works to improve opportunities for young men of color by tackling systemic inequities. Under Dr. Sims' leadership, the foundation has made a significant impact, reaching over 17,000 young men and supporting more than 6,000 youth service professionals nationwide. The foundation also serves as the backbone organization for My Brother’s Keeper Denver, advancing community empowerment and systemic change for lasting impact.With 25 years of experience, Dr. Sims is known for his expertise in organizational strategy and equity consulting. He holds gubernatorial appointments on the Colorado Community Service Commission and the Workforce Development Commission, and he serves on multiple boards, including the Colorado Opportunity Scholarship Initiative. His community service has earned him features in publications such as GlobalMindED, Voyage Denver, and Black Enterprise Magazine, where he received the 100 BE Modern Men Award.Dr. Sims is the author of Hey Man, We Just Talkin': Daily Conversations With Young Men and is working on a new book (The Sims Framework for Empowering Young Men of Color: Reimagining Education for Equality) and podcast series, All Things Boys, which dives deeper into mentoring young men.
