Co-OwnerStarlight Llama Solar Bed & Breakfast Jan 2008 - Presentwww.starlightllama.com Off the grid since 1999, my husband, builder and designer, John Clapp and I offer guests the opportunity to experience life in an off-grid, solar powered home. We share our conservation techniques and show how one can live well and simply and be an active part of addressing climate change. Our rooms have their own entrance and private baths and are decorated with antiques, original art from Western Massachusetts artists, and Shaker reproduction furniture built by John. Our vegetarian breakfasts feature fresh, local and organic foods, many from our own garden and eggs from our free-range hens. (Our guests say we need to rave more about the food, which include pumpkin pancakes, apple cider french toast, and can easily accomodate vegan or gluten-free diets.) During your visit, explore our property which has been placed in a conservation restriction to help create a wildlife corridor in Western Massachusetts. Our llamas, peacocks, donkey, goats, emus, and other creatures are a blend of rescue animals in need of a home, are integral to our pest management systems, or simply add to the farm's beauty and charm.
