Dee’s diverse working career spans almost 30 years and began in the banking sector before taking a career break to start a family. She then set up and managed her own business with a smallholding Horticultural Business for a period of 10 years. In 2011 Dee began working in the education sector, with a goal to train as a Counsellor; she subsequently achieved a BA (Hons) in Counselling in 2018. Meanwhile Dee undertook PTTLS training, worked within an Inclusion and Alternative Provision for 14-16 year olds, wrote and delivered City and Guilds Employability Modules and became a Mental Health Champion for Wellbeing at Work. She also became a qualified Forest School Leader which she applied to group based and 1-to-1 interventions for young people with challenging behaviour.Alongside this, Dee worked in a voluntary sector setting providing counselling for post-16 college students and later as a Specialist Mental Health Mentor supporting University students. Dee joined Maltby Learning Trust in 2019 as a Schools Mental Health Specialist, gaining a BPS approved certificate in clinical supervision and currently provides therapeutic interventions for children, young people and staff, supervision for frontline colleagues, as well as advice and consultation for parents and professional colleagues.
