Virgin Voyages aims to make waves in the global cruising industry by redefining the cruising experience for good, offering both cruisers and non-cruisers an irresistible new way to holiday. Sadly, the full launch of Virgin Voyages was postponed due to the global health challenges. In the meantime, we are keeping busy while we're waiting for vacations to restart. Joining Virgin Voyages back in 2015, I was asked to help set up Richard Branson's newest enterprise. The challenge was to ensure the famous Virgin combination of amazing design, wonderful experiences, and genuine friendly service runs through every touch point. Leading design I am thrilled to help build this exciting new business. We are designing and building four brand new mid-size ships with Italian shipyard Fincantieri. My role included defining the customer strategy and the creative direction for the business, working with a great team of industry operational experts together with some of the best design consultants in the world. Carefully handpicking each architect and designer, who had never worked in the industry before. The Creative Collective together with my internal design management team are responsible for the interior design of the ship’s 48 public spaces, a multitude of cabin categories. Virgin Voyages first ship, the Scarlet Lady was delivered in February 2020 to highly favorable reviews at promotional events. Valiant Lady, our second ship, is now in the outfitting dock and we are ensuring it is being built and fitted out to the highest standards, with the third following fast in her wake. Our Beach Club in Bimini is set to create the perfect relaxing beach day, with furniture and art installations being planned. While in Miami we are in the middle of the construction of Terminal V at Port of Miami, Virgin Voyages home in America, inspired by native Miami Palm Grove’s, a chance for us northerners to enjoy the tropical breezes before setting sail. Now living in Miami, Florida after relocating from Brighton in the United Kingdom. The last few years have seen amazing world-wide travel between Miami, New York, London, Amsterdam and Genoa. Through the stillness of 2020, I spent the time working on my mid-century modern home. Looking forward to the world being safe, travel and vacations opening up again in the year to come.
