Bright Press is an imprint of the Quarto Group based in Brighton that creates illustrated non-fiction for the co-edition market. I project managed an array of titles such as step-by-step drawing guides.

One client in the USA was Charlesbridge, and I was involved with their Chicken Soup for the Soul: Kids series which features board books for ages 0-3 years and picture books for ages 4-7 years. A highlight was working with author Rajani LaRocca, winner of a Newbery Honor Award in 2022.

Studied Creative Writing at Harvard University Extension School (MA, USA) under Greg Harris and I subsequently read submissions for his Pangyrus LitMag as an ad-hoc volunteer.

Situated at the Candlewick Press office (MA, USA) which was part of the Walker Books Group (London, UK). As Creative Commissioning Editor for the Character department, I worked on fiction for children aged 0-7 years - everything from board books to picture books, and a whole range of formats from puzzle, sticker and colouring-in books right through to novelty such as lift-the-flap, poster and postcard books.

Undertook freelance editorial for the Quarto Group and other clients whilst relocating to MA, USA.

Quid Publishing, part of the Quarto Group, created illustrated non-fiction. For them I worked on a number of Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) titles as well as other co-edition books for international markets.

Children's Character department: Where's Wally?, Guess How Much I Love You, Maisy and, on occasion, other Lucy Cousins titles. I was also involved in one-off Special Sales department projects - such as revised editions of classic publishing, sound chip formats and the audiobook of Anthony Horowitz's 'Alex Rider: Scorpia Rising' read by Dan Stevens - as well as a vast number of titles for the Novelty department from licensed tie-ins through to unique paper-cut books.

Children's Novelty Books. Promoted from Editor to Senior Editor. Highlights include 'My First Atlas', 'Doodle Bug!', 'Make Your Own Mosaics' and 'Build the Bones: Whales' as well as a number of bespoke items for Gill (Ireland) such as fridge magnet books.

Greeting Cards Publisher. The licenses I dealt with spanned from world-renowned artists such as Quentin Blake, Roald Dahl and Spike Milligan to the archives of institutes such as the V&A Museum, the RSPB and the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford.
