CurrentWe are a brand new and fresh organisation that is the first of it's kind in relation to the aid we are aiming to provide for the ageing workers within the Entertainment Industry of Australia. The aid we intend to provide comes in the form of securing a large property that can be used for sustainable low-cost accommodation, permaculture, workshops and other wider community engagement projects. Studies confirm that unfortunately workers within the Entertainment Industry represent one of the largest groups that commit suicide each year; usually brought on by hardships such as mental health issues due to the uncertainty around the regularity of work and the nature of how they are engaged along with the high stress of the performance/target driven aspects that the work requires. Another factor is once these workers reach a later stage of their lives their physical capabilities are reduced therefore reducing even more avenues of work within the industry.Roadies Retreat Inc is a not for profit charity with all donations being tax deductible.We want to target affordable housing, and engagement with community to help them not become another statistic. Ultimately we want to begin in South East Queensland with Stage 1 and then expand to all other states/territories as well.
