About Dee Kidd
From 1986-2000, I worked for a small Tucson CPA firm which later merged with R&A CPAs in 2000. Most all of my experience was gained working extensively with CPAs, and I will always be thankful to the a few who saw my potential. In the Accounting Services Department, I analyzed financial data, prepared financial statements, worked extensively in online accounting/business applications such as Netsuite and Intacct and became certified in Netsuite. Client contact was a big part of my job and I enjoyed it very much. I eventually became manager of the Accounting Services department where I flourished until a client (The Charter Foundation, a system of Charter Schools) hired me in 2011 as their Finance Director, then eventually their Comptroller. I had worked on their accounts for many years, so the transition was easy for me in regards to their accounting, however, working for a school was a whole new experience. My job evolved and eventually included financial grant tracking management, financial analysis for the CEO, setting up and running a payroll system for 100 employees and working closely with the Director of Curriculum & Instruction on projects. During 2021, I became Board Vice President and Charter Board Representive. After a grueling year in 2022 of securing tax-exempt bonding to acquire the buildings the schools reside in, I succeeded the Founder and CEO, Dr. Reginald Barr as Executive Director and CEO. I am proof that no matter who you are or where you're from, hard work, dedication and excellent mentorship will take you far. The sky is the limit!
