I have been with Paratransit Services since 1988, beginning as Schedule Coordinator shortly after obtaining the WA state brokerage contract. This was all new to the state so we worked together to create many of the procedures used to this day. In order to assist me with the area I become a driver for approximately a year. After a back injury I began working in the office as Assistant Office Manager/Scheduler and Window's Dispatcher. No - I didn't dispatch windows! From there the Pierce Office moved to Bremerton and from Scheduler I moved into Billing and stayed there for many years. As a billing person, I along with Jane Flory, Barb Betts and Denise Schafer created many of the forms and processes still used today. I am proud of myself for saving the State thousands of dollars by switching clients from reimbursement to fuel. Granted, that has now changed!!!! I created the Interpreter Services billing process when we first began. After 15+ years I became Assistant Contract Administrator working under the direction of the Contract Administrator to insure the contracts were being followed by our subcontractors - transportation and interpreters. That position enabled me to grow quite a bit and I am grateful for it. Due to cutbacks I am now back in Billing and am enjoying it very much.
