After receiving my Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management, I started my career with Kiewit Building Group (a district of Peter Kiewit Sons' Inc.) in 1997. For 15 years I had the opportunity to work on many exciting commercial projects in Nebraska and Hawaii. As a project manager on primarily Design-Assist/Design-Build projects, my responsibilities involved the coordination of the Design-Build team and subconsultants, preparation and review of progress estimates during pre-construction & construction phases, development of the master project schedule, constructability and method analysis reviews, project safety reinforcement, project quality initiatives, labor & equipment resource management, and management of client relations.In July 2012, with the support of my company, I changed my focus from building projects to building people. I took on the role as the District Human Resources Manager with Kiewit Infrastructure South in Fort Worth,Texas to focus on developing our future leaders. My operations background allowed me to relate to our project teams and understand how best to support their needs.From 2015 to 2021 I provided leadership in the design, implementation and execution of HR Shared Services support across the Kiewit organization as a HR Director. My priority was to provide World-class HR services as a valued business partner through process efficiencies and quality excellence resulting in the highest customer satisfaction for our partners and employees. In this capacity, my project management skills were once again in play as my teams deployed case management software for employee life-cycle events, executed process flows to meet SLAs, and identified quality root causes for continuous improvement.In July 2021 I took on a leadership role in our Quality organization. It turns out a career path in operations supplemented with an emphasis in HR process management is a great foundation for Quality. After all, quality is very much about empowering our people to follow the best processes for the required operational outcomes. Kiewit has long been committed to the "Right the First Time" quality philosophy. I'm excited to continue to elevate our organization in driving a culture of excellence that we hold as a core value.My community involvement has included a position on the Executive Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii as the Development Committee Chairperson, and volunteer work for the Hawaii Food Bank & Life Foundation, TeamMates Mentoring Program, and various Omaha non-profit organizations.
