While on placement I have recruited and enhanced my skills of working logically and managing a varied workload. Working and liaising with individuals from a different cultural background is inspiring, especially in an environment where it is challenging. Along with the ability to be more flexible and using my own initiative, I am stretched and challenged from most angles. Monitoring and evaluation plays a part in my role, VSO requires feedback from all parties involved with the programme, these include house families, partners and the volunteers themselves.Managing work schedules and reacting quickly to unexpected situations, helped me to build on my organisational skills and respond creatively with limited resources. Above all my role as a TL is to make sure that all volunteers are safe and receive support and pastoral care.
