Handle Workers' Compensation Claims for losses throughout the state of Florida. We set up the initial treatment and drug screens for new claims. I then report the new claim to the insurance carrier. Responsible for investigation work to assist the carrier. I help to educate our clients on report instructions and work with them closely on light duty work for the employee’s to be able to return to work. I follow the open claims and work very closely with the adjuster to assist and make sure the claim is moving along smoothly. I handle around 130 medical only, lost time and legal files. I attend mediations via phone with the adjuster on some of our more serious files. I attend claims reviews with the carriers.

I prepared the files to be submitted to CMS for the medicare set aside approval for final settlements of worker’s compensation and liability claims. Reviewed the records that the adjuster provided to determine if anything else was needed prior to the submission, if so contacted the adjuster and/or attorney to discuss what was needed. Once we obtained all the necessary documents, the file was then uploaded to the CMS Web Portal. If CMS requested any additional records, we worked closely with the adjuster and assist to obtain what CMS was requesting and uploaded this records to CMS so they could complete the determination process.
