When I reflect on my life, I consider myself to be very fortunate. I am not only a multi-generational Wyomingite but have spent my entire life in some aspect of the horse industry. Many trainers have marketed their systems of equipment and training, i.e. The Tellington-Jones “Therapeutic Touch” or Parelli’s “Natural Horsemanship”. I may use some of the ideas that have been marketed but also call on my personal experience and training with horseman that range from ranchers, that live and work on horseback, to professional competitors in a wide range of disciplines. Consequently I’m comfortable riding, teaching, and/or training in any discipline. My goals are simple: I want the horse owners to feel comfortable and safe around their horses and to have a working knowledge of horsemanship, both on the ground and in the saddle. At the same time I want the horse to be comfortable, confident, and prepared in whatever discipline the owner has chosen it to do. Although the basics are the same for every level of every discipline, the end point will be completely different. The knowledge and experience base is much different for a horse and rider that enjoy weekend or evening trail rides versus a Preliminary Event Rider preparing to move onto the Intermediate Level of competition.I enjoy teaching and passing my knowledge and experience onto others and hope to increase the number of horses and rider clients in the future.
