My name is Andre (DeeDee) Hunter and I thrive on increasing safety awareness, improving workflow efficiency and effectiveness and developing strong teams. I am known for maintaining environmental compliance, mentoring, coaching and leading others, planning and scheduling work activities and managing Operations and Maintenance budgets.Safety: I believe that working safe is the most important gift we can give our family. Safety is my top priority every day. I actively participate in the Behavioral Based Safety (BBS) program, where we observe behaviors in the field and help to remove obstacles that prevent people from performing their work safely. I exceeded the Safety Index KPI for Leaders by conducting Lockout/Tagout (LOTO–V) audits, Line-Walks, Pre-job briefs and Monthly Safety Blitz. The use of Human Performance Improvement (HPI) concepts and tools have helped us understand and mitigate errors due to human performance. Continuous Improvement: I led the Lean Transformation throughout the Luminant fleet. I developed and delivered training related to Continuous Improvement concepts to Front-Line leaders as well as Senior leaders that were used to optimize resources, reduce costs and eliminate wastes associated with projects and processes. Team-building: I am proud of my ability to building strong teams conducting interviews, hiring and promoting within my organization improving individual and team performances. I have enjoyed leading cross-functional teams where we have increased yields by reducing %EAL due to boiler tube leaks by more than 50% and increased reliability by developing thorough lay-up procedures for major equipment for seasonal operation. Leadership: My leadership style is to help each team member understand their value and ensure they are actively engaged in the process. I create an environment where team members are empowered to implement the changes they have suggested.
