Xavier University's Graduate Program in Health Services Administration is a CAHME-accredited, nationally-ranked program preparing leaders in healthcare management and is consistently ranked as one of the top programs in the country. I taught Management and Leadership, Strategy and Marketing, the Professional Development series and the Capstone class. As Associate Director, I worked with our graduate students to obtain administrative residencies and fellowship, a requirement for graduation from our program. Retired in August, 2023.

Served on Nominating and Governance Committee from 2015-2023, Chair from 2016-2021. Served on Compensation Committee from 2018-2020.

As a loaned executive from Cincinnati Children’s to the Health Collaborative, I led the establishment of Greater Cincinnati’s Collective Impact on Health (later named Gen-H) to achieve the Triple Aim of better health, better care and lower costs. The work brought together the Community’s business leaders, government, and other community resources in addition to the traditional health care stakeholders. The Health Collaborative was endorsed by the United Way of Greater Cincinnati, major health systems, Interact for Health and other stakeholders as the backbone organization for this effort.

Responsibilities encompassed developing and executing organizational strategy, business planning for new care models and programs; accelerating commercialization of research; creating and sustaining new business and external relationships; developing sustainable national and international affiliations and advocating for CCHMC’s interests in multiple local and national organizations.

Broad responsibilities of this Catholic sponsored, not-for-profit health system included leading the acquisition of two hospitals and five clinics; the development and construction of a new hospital; the system strategic and master facilities plans. Created and managed a primary care and specialty physician network consisting of a PHO, a multi-site primary care group, a primary care IPA and a MSO. Aligned physician and hospital managed care contracting with the network. Led a for-profit subsidiary for home health care, sports medicine and occupational health
